Paris “flips” the Olympic Games

A major mistake occurred at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in the French capital, Paris, yesterday, Friday, when the guards raised the famous flag of the Games in reverse. At the end of the opening ceremony, the guards raised the flag with its five Olympic rings on a pole in Trocadero Square near the Eiffel Tower. The flag was inverted, as the two lower rings of the symbol were turned upside down, and the usual shape of the flag is "three rings above two rings." This is not the only mistake in the opening ceremony, as a more serious mistake occurred before it, by flipping the two Koreas, when the South Korean delegation was presented as the North Korean delegation, which led to a strong South Korean protest and a request for an official apology and clarification from the International Olympic Committee.
