The Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee summarized its participation within the Iraqi delegation that attended the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The head of the committee, MP Dilan Ghafour, attended with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani during Iraq's speech at the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly. She also participated in the informal interactive dialogue sessions of the Arab Troika within the framework of enhancing cooperation between the Security Council and the League of Arab States, in the presence of Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, where the participants focused on the need to enhance peace and security in the world, especially the Middle East region, which is witnessing dangerous events. While Iraq's speech focused on the need to take a decision to cease fire in Gaza, Lebanon and the Red Sea to avoid expanding the scope of comprehensive war, and called on the international community and the United Nations to assume their responsibility befor e international law, norms and international charters.
