United states: The United States Department of Defense has reported that the total cost of US-led military operations against Iran has surged to nearly $29 billion. This represents an increase of $4 billion from the estimates that were announced in late April.
According to Qatar News Agency, the sharp rise in expenditures is primarily attributed to the costs associated with maintaining and repairing military equipment, replacing damaged parts, and covering increased operational expenses within the region. These expenses have significantly contributed to the overall financial burden of the ongoing military operations.
The Department of Defense also noted that the financial estimates are subject to continuous review by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as well as internal auditing and financial oversight teams within the department. This ensures that the financial commitments are scrutinized and managed effectively.
Furthermore, the proposed fiscal year 2027 budget introduced by the administration of US President Donald Trump includes an allocation of nearly $1.5 trillion for defense. This substantial budget proposal reflects the administration's prioritization of defense spending amidst ongoing military engagements.
