Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani inaugurated 4 factories of the Military Industrialization Authority and directed the security ministries to approve the authority's products and reconsider the arms contracting committees. PM's media office said in a statement, 'Today, Saturday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani inaugurated a number of military production factories and rehabilitation laboratories in the General Military Industries Company, within the industrial complex affiliated with the Military Industrialization Authority south of Baghdad. He also reviewed the progress of work and production in the another warship factories. The statement added, "al-Sudani inaugurated the light ammunition production factory, the qualitative examination laboratories factory and the shooting ranges for the light ammunition production line, the mortar bomb factory, and workshops for hot forging and aluminum injection in the factory, in addition to the inaguration of the ferroalloy and colored metals factory at t he General Military Industries Company." The statement indicated that "Al-Sudani's visit to the complex witnessed the inaguration of the first phase of the laboratory for rehabilitating and maintaining distribution and power transformers, where it was agreed to contract with the Ministry of Electricity according to the annual production capacity of the plant." The Prime Minister launched the executive work on the projects of the capsule factory for light ammunition, and the factory for the production of military and civilian boats. Al-Sudani also reviewed the executive work for the project for the production of medium equipment and oil production, and continued work on the electric car production factory at the General Military Industries Company, implemented in partnership with the private sector. It is scheduled to be opened at the end of this year. He also reviewed the progress of implementation at the NATO Light Equipment Factory. The statement added, "The Prime Minister blessed, in his speech, the eff orts of the Military Industrialization Authority and its working staff, who have experience and proven positions in the Iraqi military industry. He also praised the efforts of Iraqi companies and friendly companies, stressing that since the adoption of the Military Industrialization Authority Law (No. 25 of 2019), the Authority is witnessing the launch of a group of factories and the laying of the foundation stone for other factories, as we stand in front of approximately 12 factories, some of which will be completed by the end of this year, as part of the government's development program. Al-Sudani stressed that the launch of military industrialization at the level of various equipment, or civilian activities, especially the needs of the Ministry of Electricity, is not measured only by the provision of hard currency, but rather by what military industrialization means, as it is one of the foundations of the requirements of Iraqi sovereignty, He directed the security ministries to adopt the products of the Military Industrialization Authority to meet their needs. He also directed the Ministry of Defense to review all committees concerned with arms contracts and the scrap material delivery file, and for the Military Industrialization Authority to submit a position within a period of one week.
