The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, received today, Tuesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg, and his accompanying delegation, which included a number of heads and representatives of Austrian companies and businessmen.
During the meeting, according to a statement of PM's media office "Iraqi-Austrian relations were reviewed, and ways to improve the level of bilateral cooperation in several fields."
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the reopening of the Austrian Embassy in Baghdad, and the delegation’s visit, which witnesses the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding in the fields of security, transportation and economic cooperation, stressing that the government has a vision in various sectors and strategic files, and welcomes the contribution of companies from friendly countries in developing this vision."
For his part, the guest minister conveyed the greetings of the Austrian Chancellor and his invitation to al-Sudani to visit Austria in order to discuss more opportunities for bilateral partnership. He expressed the desire to be present in Iraq, deepen and strengthen the relationship and develop the partnership between the two countries at various levels, and his country’s readiness to cooperate with Iraq in the fields of health, education, communications, infrastructure construction, and information technology networks.
The meeting also witnessed businessmen and company representatives reviewing the most important work files, capabilities and expertise possessed by their companies and their previous experiences in several economic and technological fields./ End
