The results of the preliminary verification regarding the death of a patient at the Salmaniya Medical Complex indicate that the treating medical team took all necessary measures on time, and in accordance with the protocols followed in such cases, Governmental Hospitals said in a statement.
Preliminary information did not indicate that there had been a delay in providing medical care to the patient, who was receiving treatment and care in the ward for three days before her death, the statement added.
The Government Hospitals offered their sincere condolences and sympathy to the family and relatives of the deceased patient, praying to Allah the Almighty to rest her soul in eternal peace, stressing that the loss of the life of any patient is a painful event for the medical community, and requires taking the necessary investigation measures to ensure the integrity of the followed medical procedures.
The Governmental Hospitals stressed that investigation into the case will continue during the coming period, and that the patient's file will be submitted to the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), which will investigate all the circumstances of the incident in accordance with the law.
The Governmental Hospitals confirmed that they attach utmost importance to patients and always seek to provide comprehensive health care for all, in accordance with the health protocols and standards in place, adding that they will take all necessary measures towards any failure to provide the necessary health care to all patients in all its affiliate health institutions if proven.
