Damascus, President Bashar al-Assad issued Legislative Decree No. (20) of 2024 amending one of the articles of the Military Service Law. The decree allows those charged with military reserve service to pay cash compensation in return for exempting him from legal duty of the service , in case his medical tests show that he is included in one of the two cases (minimal disability - partial disability capable of performing service). The decree also allows exemption from reserve duty service for a soldier who has performed voluntary service for ten years according to the new volunteer contract (fighter).
