Purebred Arabian horses in Quneitra province…a historical heritage

Quneitra, Quneitra province has maintained the heritage of breeding purebred Arabian horses, estimated for hundreds of years, and this heritage remains a source of pride for many families who have preserved it so far. Arab horse breeder in Kudna area of Quneitra Yassin Al-Tahan said: 'We recognize the importance of preserving this inheritance that associated with the presence of our ancestors in the region for nearly 500 years, which returns its origins before this date to the Arabian Jazeera, the main home of Arab horses and the source of its various breeds. The lineages of Arabian horses are documented by the Office of Arabian Horses at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in genealogy books, and recent births are periodically matched with the basic lineages through specific procedures by the office, by drawing samples so that they can be matched through specific means. Syria joined the World Organization of Arab Horses (WAHU) in 1989, and issued the first genealogical book of purebred Arabia n horse in 1990, and publications have continued regularly until the present time.
