Qalibaf and Berri discuss the latest developments in the region in Beirut

Iranian Shura Council Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf discussed with his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri the latest developments in the region on Saturday. The official Iranian media said: "During his visit to Lebanon and in continuation of the talks he is holding with Lebanese officials, the Speaker of the Islamic Shura Council Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf met with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri and discussed the latest developments in the region. Before that, Qalibaf had met with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati. He also inspected the areas targeted by the Zionist aggression in Basta (West Beirut) and the southern suburb of Beirut." Qalibaf announced this morning, Saturday, from Beirut airport, that he is visiting Geneva and the purpose of his visit to Lebanon is to convey the message of support of the Iranian people and officials to the Lebanese people and the resistance. Qalibaf added: "In continuation of this visit, he will head to Geneva to participate in the meeting of the Inter-P arliamentary Union to explain the crimes of the Zionists and support the resistance factions against these crimes in order to clarify the state of oppression suffered by the Lebanese and Palestinian people to the world, noting that this message is an embodiment of Iran's duties on the international scene in supporting the oppressed, including the oppressed peoples of Lebanon and Palestine.
