Doha: Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways have announced the launch of codeshare flights to 19 destinations, with plans to expand further in the near future. Kenya Airways customers can now book codeshare flights between Nairobi and Doha, as well as to 10 destinations connecting through Hamad International Airport.
According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar Airways customers will gain access to eight destinations within Kenya Airways’ network, facilitated by three daily flights between Doha and Nairobi. These codeshare flights will be available for travel starting 26 October 2025, with tickets on sale from tomorrow, 21 October.
Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Thierry Antinori, commented on the partnership’s progress, noting that the enhancement strengthens the airline’s presence in Kenya and the African continent. The addition of a third daily flight to Nairobi underscores the demand for reliable connectivity.
Julius Thairu, Kenya Airways Chief Commercial and Customer Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Qatar Airways, highlighting the enhanced connectivity across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. This collaboration aims to provide customers with a seamless travel experience and access to a variety of destinations.
The announcement supports Qatar Airways’ expansion in Africa, offering passengers from over 170 global destinations access to key locations served by Kenya Airways, such as Lilongwe, Livingstone, Juba, Nampula, Ndola, and Victoria Falls.
Conversely, Kenya Airways passengers will connect to destinations in 10 countries across Asia and the Middle East via Hamad International Airport, recognized as the ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ for 11 years. These include Bahrain, Colombo, Islamabad, Karachi, Mal©, Singapore, and Tokyo Narita.
The airlines will continue collaborating on various fronts, including codeshares, airport operations, lounges, sustainability, and procurement. Future collaboration phases will cover network development, cargo, and aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
