The Qatar beach volleyball team secured second place at the Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 in Joao Pessoa, Brazil, after a narrow 2-1 loss to Norway in the final match on Sunday. The Qatari duo, Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, won the first set 27-25 against the Norwegian team of Anders Berntsen Mol and Christian Sandlie Sorum. However, they were unable to maintain the momentum, losing the second set 17-21 and the decisive third set 17-19. Earlier today, Qatar advanced to the final after defeating Argentina in straight sets in the semifinals.
