The Qatari U-17 beach handball team beat Oman on Wednesday in the 3rd Asian Men's Youth Beach Handball Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand, until October 25. The team raised its score to 4 points and better positioned itself to secure a spot in the top three and qualify for the 3rd IHF Men's Youth (U-17) Beach Handball World Championship. In the previous matches, the Qatari U-17 team secured a 2-0 win against China, while it lost to Jordan, Thailand and Iran (all 1-2). The team is set to wrap up their run in the championship on Friday by facing Indonesia. Qatar, Oman, Iran, Jordan, China, Indonesia and Thailand are participating in the 3rd Asian Men's Youth Beach Handball Championship. The championship serves as a qualifying event for the 3rd IHF Men's Youth (U-17) Beach Handball World Championship to be held in Hammamet, Tunisia, from June 17 to 22, 2025. Thailand won the 1st edition of the championship in 2016 in Pattaya and Iran won the 2nd edition in 2022 in Tehran. Source: Qatar News Agency
