Doha: HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi launched the Qatar Cancer Society’s new strategy for 2025-2028, aligning with national strategies and contributing to the Qatar National Vision 2030.
According to Qatar News Agency, the launch ceremony, organized by the Qatar Cancer Society, recognized sponsors and supporters who have been instrumental in sustaining the Society’s efforts in cancer prevention and support for individuals living with cancer. The strategy aims to cultivate innovation, enhance satisfaction among beneficiaries and partners, promote institutional development, improve employee efficiency, boost organizational performance, and ensure service sustainability.
The strategy was formulated through a detailed internal and external institutional analysis, addressing stakeholders’ needs and expectations, and benchmarking similar organizations to cultivate a vision of a cancer-aware society and improved life quality for those affected by cancer. The mission includes raising cancer awareness, implementing prevention strategies, providing financial and psychological support to patients, survivors, and their families, and contributing to professional development and scientific research in cancer care.
HE Chairman of Qatar Cancer Society Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jabor Al-Thani expressed pride in the new strategy, highlighting it as a crucial step towards enhancing cancer patient care and support amidst rising health challenges. The strategy underscores the need for strengthened health services and improved care quality for cancer patients and their families.
The strategy is grounded in key national frameworks, such as the Qatar Third National Development Strategy (2024-2030), which supports sustainable development in various sectors, the Qatar’s Charitable and Humanitarian Strategy (2023-2030), which focuses on patient support and living condition improvements through awareness and humanitarian programs, the National Health Strategy 2024-2030, emphasizing population health and healthcare efficiency, and the Qatar Cancer Plan 2023-2026, which aims to advance cancer prevention, early detection, and healthcare services for cancer patients in Qatar.
HE the Chairman reaffirmed the Society’s dedication to the community by raising awareness and providing exceptional care for cancer patients in Qatar, in collaboration with stakeholders, key partners, supporters, and skilled employees. His Excellency expressed gratitude to all individuals who contributed to the development of this strategic plan.
