Qatar Charity Initiates Economic Empowerment Projects for Mauritanian Families

Nouakchott: Qatar Charity, in collaboration with the Ministry of Vocational Training, Traditional Industry, and Handcrafts in Mauritania, has launched a series of economic empowerment projects aimed at vocational training graduates and the children and breadwinners of needy families.

According to Qatar News Agency, the initiative includes the establishment of a sewing workshop benefiting 40 families, enhancements in leather tanning and product development for 64 families, the construction of a solidarity market for 60 families, and a project focused on manufacturing bricks and cement products for 50 families.

The launch event was attended by notable figures including Taleb Ould Amadi, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Vocational Training, Traditional Industries, and Crafts; Fahad Al Dosari, the Charge d’Affaires of the Qatari Embassy; and Khaled Abdullah Al Yafei, the Director of the Donor Relations Department at Qatar Charity.

In his address, Taleb Ould Amadi highlighted that these projects are part of a partnership agreement between the Ministry and Qatar Charity. The goal is to support governmental efforts in empowering vulnerable groups by offering training opportunities and access to essential resources for sustainable income.

Khaled Abdullah Al Yafei from Qatar Charity reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to prioritizing vocational training and economic empowerment. By working closely with the Ministry, Qatar Charity aims to deliver projects that meet market needs and improve the employability of youth and female heads of households.
