Qatar Engages Actively in Fourth Arab Parliament for Child in Sharjah

Sharjah: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has participated in the fourth Arab Parliament for the Child (APC), held in Sharjah, UAE, over the course of 10 days. Four Qatari students took part in the event under the supervision of Professor Amer Al Nuaimi and Professor Shaima Kamal.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education revealed that two members of the Qatari delegation were selected to join the Activities Committee and the Child Rights Committee. This selection underscores the confidence in Qatari children’s capabilities in international forums and highlights the state’s commitment to preparing young leaders who can represent their country effectively at Arab and international forums.

The ministry explained that the event is an essential platform for qualifying children in leadership fields, providing participants with fundamental skills for parliamentary work. These skills include public speaking, discussion mechanisms, decision-making, and research and issue analysis.

The ministry’s statement noted that the program included numerous cultural and educational events. These encompassed visits to Sharjah Heritage Days, the Sharjah Archaeology Museum, the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, and the Sharjah Art Foundation. The Qatari delegation also engaged in various environmental and sports activities, contributing an educational and entertaining dimension to their participation.

The ministry emphasized in its statement that the APC is crucial for empowering Arab children, enhancing their leadership, and developing their social skills. It plays a significant role in refining their abilities to express opinions and participate in decision-making, thus serving as a bridge linking emerging generations.
