Qatar Engages in Key GCC Meeting for UK Free Trade Agreement

Doha: The State of Qatar participated in the GCC Ministers of Commerce Meeting, held via video conference to discuss developments in negotiations over a free trade agreement between the GCC countries and the United Kingdom. The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting was attended by the trade ministers of the GCC member states, as well as the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council. During the meeting, several topics were discussed, most notably strengthening the strategic partnership, including overcoming obstacles and narrowing differences on all aspects related to the free trade agreement between the two sides, in preparation for signing it soon.
