Seville: The State of Qatar participated in the high-level opening session of the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) currently taking place in Seville in the Kingdom of Spain. The State of Qatar’s delegation to the session was headed by HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad.
According to Qatar News Agency, the conference aims to follow up on the United Nations’ process on financing for development by reinforcing the agreements and commitments established during the previous three international conferences. The first conference, held in Monterrey, Mexico, in 2002, laid down fundamental principles for development financing.
The second conference took place in Doha in 2008, during the global financial crisis, highlighting its importance in addressing the impact of the crisis on developing countries. The third conference was hosted in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2015, resulting in the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, which provides a comprehensive framework for financing sustainable development.
