The State of Qatar participated in the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, which was held on Tuesday via videoconferencing.
The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by Advisor to HE Minister of Sports and Youth Abdulrahman bin Musallam Al Dosari.
During the meeting, the "Arab Strategy for Youth, Peace and Security" was discussed, which is scheduled to be launched this year, and a proposal to establish the Arab Youth Union was also discussed.
The Social Affairs Sector of the Arab League presented the proposal for the Arab Strategy for Youth, Peace and Security during the meeting of the 46th session of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, which was held last March in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
It is noteworthy that the Arab strategy for peace and security is the first of its kind in the Arab world and the world. It aims to cooperate for youth participation in peace and security issues, and to develop national strategies on peace and security through an implementation plan and a four-year timetable.
The Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers seeks to facilitate integration in the field of youth and sports, and to coordinate the positions of Arab countries in regional and international youth and sports meetings and conferences, in addition to supervising Arab sports tournaments, in cooperation with the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees.
