The State of Qatar, represented by Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al-Marri, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Islamic Organization for Food Security(IOFS ), participated in the celebration of the Organization's Day, which falls on 12 December, at the Organization's headquarters in the Kazakh capital - Astana.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Masoud Al-Marri emphasized that the annual celebration of the IOFS recalls the crucial role of the Organization towards achieving partnerships for sustainable food security for Islamic countries, and indicates its keenness on the need to enhance responsibility, join efforts and increase effective coordination among the Member States of the Organization to raise awareness of food security issues and achieve its requirements of providing adequate, safe and balanced nutrition. This is in addition to increasing the ability related to obtaining food at the appropriate cost and the required quality with a view towards achieving sustainable development, social stability, and a decent living for the Islamic peoples.
