The State of Qatar, the current chair of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), represented by the Ministry of Finance, chaired the joint meeting of GCC and Caucasus and Central Asia (CCA) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors. The meeting came as part of the State of Qatar's participation in the 2024 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG), taking place between Oct. 21-26 in Washington, DC. The meeting was co-chaired by HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari and HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov. During the meeting, the enhancement of trade and financial cooperation between the two regions was discussed. The prevailing challenges that hinder deeper economic cooperation were also identified and discussed, in addition to the policies and measures necessary to facilitate trade and financial cooperation.
