Doha: The Qatar Social Work Foundation and its affiliated centers enthusiastically welcomed the Amiri Decision No. 16 of 2025, which announced the establishment of the Rawda Award for Excellence in Social Work. This award marks a significant milestone in the nation’s journey towards community development and underscores the leadership’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in the social sector, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Rawda Award embodies a national trend that values social work by recognizing outstanding contributions in various fields, including individuals, families, non-profit organizations, the private sector, and the media. The award features three categories of recognition: the Rawda Award, a shield of excellence, and a certificate of appreciation.
Acting CEO of the Qatar Social Work Foundation, Khalid bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, emphasized that the award is not just a symbolic honor but a strategic vision aimed at investing in people and society. He highlighted the foundation’s commitment to supporting the award’s goals by fostering an environment that encourages innovation and collaboration across sectors to enhance community cohesion.
In support of this vision, CEO of the Social Development Center (Nama), Ghanim bin Salah Al Ali, noted that the award aligns with the center’s mission to empower youth and promote a culture of initiative. He highlighted the importance of effective partnerships and young talent investment in achieving the award’s objectives.
Executive Director of Al Shafallah Center, Maryam Saif Al Suwaidi, expressed that the award truly appreciates the efforts of those supporting people with disabilities. It serves as an incentive to innovate and improve service quality, thereby contributing to a fair and inclusive community environment.
Eng. Jabr Rashid Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Family Counseling Center (Wifaq), emphasized the award’s role in strengthening family cohesion, a key focus of national development. He pointed out that the award encourages positive competition between community institutions to enhance family life quality.
Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al-Thani, Executive Director of Dreama Center, praised the award as a visionary step supporting orphaned children and promoting solidarity. She noted it would incentivize developing orphan integration programs to achieve high care standards.
Manal Ahmed Al Mannai, Executive Director of the Ehsan Center, highlighted the award’s role in appreciating the elderly, encouraging the design of sustainable programs that integrate the elderly into society, and enhancing their quality of life.
Fadal Mohammed Al Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN), stated that the award represents a significant step towards promoting a culture of social work, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030’s sustainable development goals.
Mishal Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Al-Noor Centre for the Blind, commended the award for promoting social work and incentivizing social institutions to support the visually impaired community.
Rashid bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Behavioral Healthcare Center, stressed the award’s role in fostering a culture of community giving, which begins with individual efforts and impacts societal surroundings.
