Doha: Under the slogan “Explore It!”, the Pre-University Outreach Department under the Student Affairs Sector at Qatar University (QU) organizes the 2025 Open Day, scheduled to take place from 13 to 17 April 2025. The first two days will be dedicated to boys’ schools, while April 15 and 16 will be allocated to girls’ schools. April 17 will be designated for international and private schools.
According to Qatar News Agency, for the first time, evening sessions will be held over three days, allowing various categories of visitors to attend and enjoy the event in a distinctive atmosphere.
On this occasion, Vice President for Student Affairs at QU, Dr. Mohamed Diab stated, “We aim to attract distinguished and talented high school students to pursue their university education at QU by providing them with all the necessary support and guidance to help them choose the academic path that aligns with their interests and aspirations. This is achieved by introducing them to the promising opportunities offered by our academic programs, which are held to the highest international standards.” Dr. Diab noted that this year’s Open Day will provide students and parents the opportunity to direct their inquiries to representatives from various colleges, departments, and service centers at the university. They will also be able to participate in activities held alongside the Engineering Week, organized by the College of Engineering in collaboration with student clubs. Visitors will gain insight into student life at QU, and the event will host the College of Engineering’s Annual Engineering Exhibition, which in
cludes a dedicated exhibition for the college’s departments, as well as a range of interactive activities and events in engineering sciences to introduce students to these fields in an innovative manner.
Dr. Diab encouraged students wishing to enroll at the university for Fall 2025 to promptly submit their admission applications through the university’s website, stressing the importance of completing the application before the deadline. He added that students can visit QU’s official website to view dates, required documents, and contact the university with any questions regarding the admission process, requirements, or minimum GPA needed for different majors.
For her part, Director of Pre-University Outreach at the Student Affairs Sector, Fatma Al Muhannadi emphasized that the Open Day aims to introduce colleges, academic programs, and admission requirements to support high school students in selecting the most suitable academic path based on their interests and capabilities. The event will also highlight student life at the university through participation in student clubs and activities in the Student Life Corner, helping students form a comprehensive understanding of the university experience.
She added that the event will be held at the Events and Conference Hall in the Student Affairs Building at QU. Several national institutions will participate in this edition of the event, including the Scholarships Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Qatar Olympic Committee, the Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The College of Sport Sciences will also participate for the first time, coinciding with the announcement of the start of admission for Fall 2025. This provides students with the opportunity to explore its programs and specializations firsthand.
