QatarEnergy signed yesterday two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on cooperation in solar energy field with Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and Woqod. The two MoUs were signed in the presence of HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, and HE Engineer Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, also President and CEO of QatarEnergy.
The first MoU, signed between Siraj Energy and Qatar Foundation, reflects a shared commitment to achieving sustainability and to developing and implementing strategies that contribute to shaping a sustainable future for the State of Qatar. This MoU aims to study and evaluate installation and utilization of PV systems to power Sidra Medicine, member of Qatar Foundation.
The study will include the determination of most effective capacity to be cabled to existing power systems by considering optimization of available land areas, sustainability and efficiency. Siraj Energy will complete the works of this phase during the second quarter of 2022.
