The Qatari men's beach volleyball team, consisting of the duo Cherif Youness and Ahmed Tijan, ranked 11th in the world rankings recently issued by the International Volleyball Federation. The Qatari team collected 5660 points from their last participation in world championships and tours during the past period. The Swedish duo of David Ahlemann and Jonathan Helvig top the world rankings with 8100 points, followed by the Dutch duo of Bormans and De Groot in second place with 7640 points. The Qatari team won the silver medal of the World Elite Championship (Joao Pessoa Tour - Elite16) held in Brazil last, Sunday, after losing to Norwegian counterpart (1-2) in the final match with sets (27-25), (17-21), and (17-19).
