Doha: Qatari newspapers highlighted in their editorials Wednesday HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's state visit to the Hellenic Republic, stressing the significance of the visit in promoting the bilateral relations and joint cooperation to reach the level of a strategic partnership. The Qatari dailies underlined that Qatar and Greece enjoy important potentials to enhance economic ties, leveraging their strategic locations and economic strength; noting the steady development of the bilateral over decades. Under the headline "Qatar and Greece... A Will to Build Strong Partnership", Al-Sharq emphasized the significance of HH the Amir's first visit to Greece in light of the constant development of the bilateral relations and the joint aspiration to establish a close cooperation and firm partnership. HH the Amir's visit to Athens reflects the joint keenness on expanding the bilateral cooperation across all fields, mainly energy, trade, transportation, culture, education, tourism and sports; as well as consultation on regional and international issues of mutual concern, especially the developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, Al-Sharq said. HH the Amir's visit to Greece is milestone in the course of the distinguished relations between the two countries, paving the way for new broad horizons for cooperation and partnership in various areas through a number of important bilateral agreements that are expected to be signed; hence laying the foundation for multiple partnerships serving the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples, Al-Sharq concluded. In its editorial entitled "Qatar and Greece... Growing Relations", Al-Raya noted the great development of the relations between Qatar and Greece at all levels in the past few years, most importantly the economic and investment fields, in light of the remarkable economic growth in both countries which enjoy huge investment potentials. HH the Amir's visit to Greece will upgrade the bilateral relations and joint cooperati on to reach the level of a strategic partnership, especially as both countries enjoy important potentials to enhance economic ties, leveraging their strategic locations and economic strength, Al-Raya stressed. The relations between Qatar and Greece have been rapidly growing and developing, and are regulated by many cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding in many sectors, in addition to many Greek companies operating in Qatar, as well as Qatari companies operating in Greece in multiple economic sectors, the paper added. Greece is a promising investment destination and has great opportunities. There is no doubt that HH the Amir's visit to Greece and his official discussions with Greek officials will stimulate the economic sectors in both countries and private sector companies to increase cooperation and enhance joint and mutual projects, Al-Raya concluded.
