Doha: Qatari newspapers highlighted in their editorials Friday HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's speech at the opening of the 3rd Asian Cooperation Dialogue Summit, which opened in Doha yesterday under the theme "Sports Diplomacy". The Qatari dailies applauded HH the Amir's assertion on Qatar's belief in the importance of intensifying efforts to contain the escalation and tension and to stem the bloodshed by resorting to rational dialogue, the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, the international legitimacy resolutions, and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states and non-interference in their internal affairs in a way that guarantees the right for all countries and peoples to live in security, peace, and dignity. The newspapers also highlighted HH the Amir's directives to send urgent medical and relief aid to the brethren in the Republic of Lebanon to contribute to addressing the displacement crisis resulting from the recent developments. Al-Raya underlined that Arab issues have always been present in HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's speeches in all international forums, affirming Qatar's supportive position for just Arab causes. On Lebanon, HH the Amir renewed Qatar's rejection and condemnation of the aerial strikes and escalating military operations unleashed by the Israeli occupation forces against the sisterly Lebanese Republic recently, which claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent civilians who committed no error, and displaced more than a million citizens, Al-Raya pointed out. The paper also highlighted HH the Amir's directives to send urgent medical and relief aid to the brethren in the Republic of Lebanon, which affirms Qatar's constant support for Lebanon.
