Qatari runner Hatem Hamid qualified for the semi-finals of the 800m race at the World Athletics U20 Championships in the Peruvian capital Lima, with the participation of 1,700 male and female athletes representing 134 countries. Hamid finished the qualifying round in first place his category, achieving a time of 1:49.98 minutes. The Qatari team includes a group of promising athletes under the age of 20, namely Ahmed Jabreen, Saif Mohammed, Hatem Hamid, Ibrahim Abdullah, Khaled Hussein, Omar Daoud, Abdulrahman Mohammed, Mahmoud Moussa, Osama Mohammed, Mazen Abdul Majeed, and Youssef Abdul Aziz.
