The Qatari Billiards and Snooker team has wrapped up its participation in the nine-day Arab Billiards and Snooker Championship 2024, hosted by Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The team achieved good results and claimed bronze medal in the men's 15-ball Snooker team competition. The Iraqi team won gold, with the UAE claiming silver, and Bahrain securing bronze alongside Qatar. In the men's 9-ball pool individual competition, Qatari Bashar Hussein and Algerian Akba Mohamedi secured third place and bronze medal, while Bahraini Hussein Maroom won silver, and Mahmoud Sherif from UAE won gold. The Qatari Ahmed Saif also won bronze in the Snooker masters competition for players over 40, alongside Habib Sabah from Bahrain. and Mohammed Shehab from UAE who claimed the gold medal, whilst Firas Kamel from Iraq won silver. In the men's carom team competition, the Qatari and Saudi team claimed bronze, with Egypt claiming gold while Lebanon claimed silver. Source: Qatar News Agency
