Doha: Several continental federations participating in the 2nd West Asian Archery Championship, currently taking place in Doha, expressed their appreciation for Qatar’s outstanding organization of the event.
According to Qatar News Agency, President of the UAE Archery Federation Hanadi Khalifa Al Kabouri highlighted Qatar’s well-established reputation for excellence in organizing such championships. She expressed excitement and delight to be part of the event, wishing all participants the best of luck. Al Kabouri also noted that the UAE is fielding 18 male and female archers in both the Olympic and compound bow competitions, with aspirations of winning the gold medal.
Head of the Saudi Archery Federation delegation, Mohammed Al Abdulmohsen, commended the high-quality Qatari organization and the world-class Lusail Fields Complex hosting the tournament. He mentioned that Saudi Arabia is represented by 15 male and female archers, who prepared through a recent closed training camp in Riyadh. Al Abdulmohsen also revealed that Saudi Arabia will host the third edition of the championship.
Meanwhile, Head of the Jordanian delegation, Hamza Al Ma’ani, praised the excellent organization of the tournament, emphasizing that such professionalism is consistent with Qatar’s track record, including the successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup 2022. He added that Jordan’s national team, comprising seven archers, aims to continue its history of achievements, notably the multiple medals won at the Arab Championship held in Tunisia two years ago.
