Amman, HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber (QC) and First Vice-President of the Islamic Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani affirmed the State of Qatar's success in establishing a cutting-edge digital infrastructure that reflects its belief in the digital economy's role in fostering economic growth, achieving sustainable development, and diversifying the economy, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. His Excellency was addressing the 36th of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber for Commerce and Development (ICCD, and the "Invest in the Digital Economy" Forum, held on May 26-27 in Amman, Jordan. HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani added that Qatari entrepreneurs give foremost priority to investment in economy and digital trade ventures, highlighting that the digital trade had achieved profound growth in Qatar. His Excellency commended the ICCD's efforts and vital role in fostering economic and trade development among Islamic countries. He emphasized that ICCD activities and events are instrume ntal in boosting cooperation between chambers of commerce, thus ultimately benefiting the economies of member states. HE Chairman of QC emphasized the Qatar Chambers ironclad support for coordination and cooperation among member chambers, with the objective of streamlining procedures for sharing goods and services and boosting intra-trade among Islamic countries. Also, he underscored the importance of fostering cooperation between the private sector of Islamic countries by holding conferences and exhibitions that showcase investment opportunities and incentives, thus promoting mutual investments and joint ventures. Additionally, His Excellency reiterated the importance of the "Invest in the Digital Economy" Forum, held under the patronage of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of Jordan, affirming that the forum convened in light of the growing global interest in the digital economy in the era of digital transformation adopted by numerous countries of the world, along with the massive technology boom in a variety of fields, and expansion of E-trade. The forum was an invaluable opportunity to explore cooperation in those critical sectors, His Excellency outlined, noting that discussions delved into investment opportunities in the digital economy, as well as the challenges that hinder its development and potential solutions, adding that QC was keen to participate in the forum in alignment with the tremendous advancements the State of Qatar has made at the levels of economy and digital trade. QC so far participated in the meeting with a delegation led by HE Chairman of QC Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani, alongside a host of members of QC's board of directors. The meeting discussed many items, foremost of which were the progress of the ICCD accreditation program, the approval of the 68th Finance Committee report, the "Manafea" initiative, the completion of the first phase of the Gaza Reconstruction Initiative, and other relevant topics.
