Doha: Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), founded by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development, honored the volunteers of the “Because You Can” program, including those with disabilities and learning challenges, during the closing ceremony of the program. These volunteers played an active role in organizing Qatar’s National Day 2024 and the 2025 Sports Day events.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ceremony also recognized the program’s partner organizations, including the Ministry of Labor, “Izdihar” platform by Qatar Charity, Qatar Voluntary Center, Young Entrepreneurs Club (YEC), “Wafiq” platform, and Jusour – Qatar Manpower Solutions and Co. The team behind the program, including trainers, volunteers, and those with disabilities, were all honored for their contributions.
In his speech, Acting Executive Director of QCDC Saad Abdulla Al Kharji praised the success of the program and the efforts of all the participating organizations. He stressed that the contributions of partners and their unwavering commitment to providing training, technical, and logistical support helped empower the program’s participants to achieve their goals. He further emphasized that their partnerships help strengthen a national vision that leaves no one behind.
He noted that the “Because You Can” program is more than just an initiative. It embodies a humanitarian message and strategic vision focused on promoting inclusion and empowering everyone in society. He also highlighted the importance of continuing efforts to foster values of empowerment and integration, in alignment with Qatar’s ambitious vision, which believes that every individual has a valuable role in society.
“Because You Can” program is a unique initiative that provides comprehensive professional development services. It equips participants with key skills and hands-on experience, enhancing their long-term employability. Volunteers are given the opportunity to take part in organizing major national events, creating a work environment that hones their communication, teamwork, technical, and personal skills.
The program aims to help individuals with disabilities and learning challenges reach their professional aspirations and integrate into Qatar’s labor market, in line with QCDC’s mission to create an inclusive workplace that offers equal opportunities for everyone.
