QSE Index Edges Lower at Market Open

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index experienced a slight decline of 0.06% at the beginning of trading on Tuesday, resulting in a loss of 6.22 points to reach 11,021 compared to the previous session’s close.

According to Qatar News Agency, this downturn was influenced by losses in three sectors, with Telecoms leading the drop at -0.51%, followed by Insurance at -0.48%, and Banks and Financial Services at -0.25%.

Conversely, other sectors showed positive movement, with Transportation registering a rise of +0.64%, Real Estate up by +0.20%, Industrials gaining +0.18%, and Consumer Goods and Services increasing slightly by +0.06%.

By 10:00 am, the QSE noted a turnover of QR 37.163 million, with the exchange of 17.382 million shares across 3,746 transactions.
