Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index edged up 0.67% at the start of trading on Thursday, adding 77.38 points to reach 11,712 compared to the previous session’s close.
According to Qatar News Agency, the rise in the general index was attributed to the positive performance of several sectors. The Telecoms sector saw an increase of 1.20%, while the Banks and Financial Services sector experienced a rise of 1.08%. Other sectors that contributed to the upward trend included Consumer Goods and Services (+0.33%), Transportation (+0.33%), Real Estate (+0.32%), Industrials (+0.16%), and Insurance (+0.03%).
As of 10:00 am, the market recorded a trading volume of 57.243 million shares, with a total turnover of QR 121.351 million executed across 4,270 transactions.
