Doha: The Qatar Table Tennis Association has announced hosting of the Qatar International Combined Championships for 2025, including the Star Contender, the Youth Star Contender, and the Feeder International Championship, from January 27 to February 8 at the Aspire Zone Women's Sports Hall in collaboration with the World Table Tennis (WTT).
According to Qatar News Agency, hosting the tournament reflects the vision of QTTA in caring for the age groups that represent the future of table tennis in Qatar, and is in line with QTTA's strategic plan, which is consistent with the Qatar Olympic Committee's plan to prepare distinguished players for the Doha 2030 Asian Games.
The tournament is also a rehearsal before hosting the 2025 World Championship finals, which will be held from May 17 to 25, where the level of readiness will be reviewed from an organizational standpoint, and the level of readiness for this world championship, which is being held for the second time in Doha after the 2004 edition.
The Qatari Table Tennis Association announced its full readiness for the launch of the Qatar International Combined Championships for 2025 and confirmed that the Star Contender will be the first tournament and will start from January 27 to 30, followed by the Youth Star Contender Championship, which will be held from January 31 to February 2, then the Feeder International Championship will be held from February 4 to 8, with the participation of a group of world champions and top players in the game.
For his part, Ahmed Khalil Al Mohannadi, Director of the Qatar International Table Tennis Championships 2025, confirmed that all arrangements have been completed for the launch of the three championships, a few days after the distinguished conclusion of the 30th edition of the Qatar International Championship (WTT Star Contender Doha 2025).
Al Mohannadi said in press statements that each of the three championships will witness the participation of a large number of champions from different countries, and the women's sports hall has been equipped to receive the participants.
He noted that the Qatari team will participate with all its elements, whether for men, women, or in the youth category, most notably Muhammad Abdul Wahab, Abdullah Abdul Wahab, Ahmed Eid, Rawad Al Nasser, Aya Muhammad, and Maryam Ali.
He pointed out that holding the championships in Doha is a good preparation for the elements of the national teams for the upcoming events, and it also contributes to the players gaining the necessary experience through interaction with champion players from different countries participating in the competitions.
