Manama, The Bureau of the Council of Representatives has expressed pride in His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's keenness to enhance joint Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Arab action in all fields, support the just Palestinian cause and the just legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, as well as safeguard regional security and stability. The panel, which convened here today under the chairmanship of Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, made the statements as the kingdom gears up to host the 33rd Arab Summit in May. The Representatives Council's Bureau also commended the tremendous efforts made by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to address the impacts of the heavy rain that affected the kingdom recently. In this regard, the panel praised HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's directives to the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Ministry of Works to assess the flood-related damages t o compensate those affected, as well as to identify the areas adversely affected by the rainfall, and develop sustainable infrastructural and drainage solutions needed, in line with best practices to meet current and future needs. The Representatives Council's Bureau also commended the efforts made by the relevant ministries and authorities to deal with the rainwater pools resulting from floods, hailing the role played by governorates and municipal councils to raise the awareness of the citizens and residents to ensure public safety. During the meeting, several parliamentary issues were discussed, and the agenda of the upcoming parliamentary sessions was approved. Source: Bahrain News Agency
