Russia Announces Elimination of 650 Ukrainian Troops, Shot Down 129 Drones

Moscow: The Russian military forces took out 650 Ukrainian troops and shot down 129 drones, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Monday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the statement added that the forces also captured the town of Lenino in Donetsk Oblast, northeastern Ukraine, with Russian military units engaging the Ukrainian armed forces in 142 zones along the combat lines, in addition to destroying dozens of combat vehicles, artillery pieces, munitions depots, and cyber warfare stations.

The Russian forces also targeted the energy infrastructure facilities supporting the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, transportation establishments operated by Ukrainian forces, and sites used for storing and launching long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, the statement continued.

Since the outbreak of the war on Feb. 24, 2022, Russia and Ukraine have been trading daily reports confirming military progress or repelling attacks by the opposing side.

These data have not been verified by independent sources due to the conditions marred by war and persistent battles.
