Russia Declares Control Over Northeastern Ukraine Town

Kharkiv: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced Monday that its forces had seized control of a new town in northeastern Ukraine.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry reported that units from the Russian West Group of Forces had succeeded in capturing the town of Kamianka in the Kharkiv region. The statement also noted that Ukrainian forces had suffered the loss of more than 240 soldiers, in addition to some military equipment.

Reports issued by both countries present conflicting accounts of the situation on the ground, with no possibility of independently verifying these accounts due to the ongoing war and continuous battles since February 2022.
