The Russian Defense Ministry announced the elimination of 13,100 soldiers and the destruction of 110 tanks since the Ukrainian attack on Kursk on August 6. The ministry said in a statement that the"Units of the North" forces continue to clear the areas of Novoivanovka, Dar'ino, Nikolaevo-Dar'ino, Pokrovskoe, and Borki from Ukrainian forces, adding that during the past 24 hours they repelled 5 enemy attacks on the towns and villages of Mar'ivka, Liubimovka, Obukhovka, and Russkaya Konopel'ka, eliminating 13,100 soldiers and destroying 110 tanks, hundreds of armored vehicles, cannons, rocket launchers, air defense systems, 26 electronic warfare stations, and 7 radar stations. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently affirmed that the Ukrainian forces' incursion into the Russian border region of Kursk achieved the desired result by slowing down Russia's advance on another front in the east of his country, adding that Russia's renewed attack in the Kursk region did not achieve significant successes. The war between Russia and Ukraine took an escalating course on August 6, after the Ukrainian army announced that it had managed to penetrate Russian territory and advance kilometers in the Kursk border region, in a new shift in the war between the two countries that has been going on since 2022.
