In the colours of Dhafi Al Marri, the Purebred Arabian filly RYSK TOUT (No Risk Al Maury x Jeanne d’Arca) came with a strong run to snatch victory from GHAFFAR DE BRUGERE (Dahor de Brugere x Limited Edition) in a tight finish to win the Abu Dhabi Sports Council Cup – Sheikh Mansoor Festival on Sunday, 12 December.
Running over 2,400 meters on the all-weather track at Pau, France, RYSK TOUT, in the hands of jockey Hugo Mouesan, sat on the rail in midfield having been held up by her jockey coming from her draw of 1 in the starting gates. She travelled quietly throughout, in a steadily run race led by FOWAIRET. In the final turn, Mouesan switched the 4-year-old filly to the outside, leaving her with a clear run when turning into the straight. She powered through the final 400 meters, passing no less the seven horses in the straight to win by a neck.
Trained by Charles Gourdain in Pau, this was a second win for the filly who has already performed at Group level and who has yet to be out of the placings in all her nine career starts. She was bred by JC di Francesco.
