Saudi Arabia Condemns Attacks on Infrastructure in Sudan’s Port Sudan and Kassala

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday expressed its condemnation of the targeting of critical infrastructure and facilities in Port Sudan and Kassala, in the Republic of Sudan, affirming that it poses a threat to regional stability, as well as to Arab and African national security.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom’s position, calling for an immediate halt to the war in Sudan, in order to spare the nation and its people further suffering and devastation.

The solution to this crisis is a Sudanese-Sudanese political solution that respects the sovereignty and unity of Sudan, based on supporting the institutions of Sudanese statehood, the statement read.

In addition, the ministry stressed the Kingdom’s rejection of these violations, underscoring the importance of implementing what was agreed upon in the Jeddah Declaration of Commitment to Protect the Civilians of Sudan, signed on May 11, 2023.
