The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the 35th session of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs, organised by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture in cooperation with the Arab League, from October 13 to 17, 2024, in Jeddah. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the session will be attended by Arab environment ministers from member states, alongside representatives from various international organisations. The meetings will begin with the 25th session of the council's technical committee, scheduled for October 13 to 15, followed by the 60th executive office meeting on October 16, in preparation for the ministers' meeting on October 17. The agenda includes discussions on key environmental issues for the Arab region, such as environmental challenges, nature based solutions, and international environmental agreements, in addition to Arab cooperation on desertification, biodiversity, and climate change. The session will also review the progress of the Middle Eas t Green Initiative and Arab participation in the upcoming COP16 conference in Riyadh. Source: Bahrain News Agency
