Seven drug dealers, including an international one, arrested in three governorates

The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security announced today, Wednesday, the arrest of 7 drug dealers, including an international dealer in the governorates of Baghdad, Diwaniyah and Basra. The directorate stated in a statement, "The detachments of the Basra Intelligence and Security Directorate were able to arrest an international drug dealer in Ashar area, against whom an arrest warrant was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article (27 First) of the Anti-Narcotics Law |, and seized in his possession half a kilogram of crystal narcotic substance and drug paraphernalia." In the same context and through accurate intelligence information, "the detachments of the Diwaniyah Intelligence and Security Directorate arrested four wanted persons on charges of drug and weapons dealers and kidnapping, in various areas of the city of Diwaniyah, and the accused were handed over to the competent authorities." The Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate detachments also arrested two wanted persons by the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of Article 32 of the Narcotics Law, in well-planned ambushes.
