Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh received today his Qatari counterpart Hasan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, on the sidelines of the 146th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly, being held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from March 11 to 15.

The Shura Council Chairman praised solid historic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Qatar and their specificity, stressing Bahrain’s keenness on unity between the GCC countries. He lauded active participation of the Qatari Shura Council delegation and their keenness on boosting the GCC, Arab and international parliamentary work.

Al Ghanim expressed most sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its successful and distinguished hosting of the biggest parliamentary gathering in the world. He also praised the Bahraini parliamentary delegation’s stance and its support to the emergency clause introduced by Qatar to criminalize hatred and intolerance.

The meeting was attended by Shura Council Second Deputy Chairman Dr. Jihad Abdullah Al Fadhel and Secretary General Karima Mohammed Al Abbasi.
