Security forces seized a garage used for trading in oil derivatives and arrested 6 suspects and seized 3 vehicles in Baghdad and Nineveh. The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement: "A force from the Third Brigade raided a garage used for illegal trading in oil derivatives in the Al-Bayaa area on the Karkh side of the capital, Baghdad. The operation also resulted in the arrest of 5 suspects who were present inside the garage, and the seizure of two vehicles, one of which was modified and carrying an unknown quantity and quality of smuggled oil product, and the seizure of an iron tank with a capacity of (40,000/ liters) containing an unknown quantity and quality of oil product, and an iron tank with a capacity of 35,000/ liters." In the same context, the First Brigade checkpoints were able to seize a vehicle and arrest its driver in Nineveh Governorate for not downloading copies of the loading documents in the tank monitoring program. The seized items were removed and the accused were detained in prepara tion for completing the legal procedures and presenting the case papers to the competent judiciary in accordance with the Anti-Smuggling of Oil and Its Derivatives Law No. 41 of 2008.
