Doha: The American Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) launched 27 new Starlink satellites into space.
According to Qatar News Agency, the company stated that the Falcon 9 rocket was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, USA, carrying the satellites into low Earth orbit approximately 60 minutes after liftoff.
The first section of the rocket successfully returned to Earth approximately eight minutes later, landing on a SpaceX drone stationed in the Pacific Ocean.
Starlink is the largest constellation of satellites ever assembled, with approximately 7,100 active spacecraft currently in operation.
