Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stressed that the international community cannot "remain indifferent" to the Israeli attack on Lebanon.
During a debate in parliament, Sanchez expressed his regret for the "lack of consensus" on the issue within the European Union.
The Spanish Prime Minister described the Israeli attack on Lebanon as an "invasion", adding that "it is clear that there was an invasion by another country of a sovereign state like Lebanon, and therefore the international community cannot remain indifferent."
Spain had stressed the need to stop the ground incursion into southern Lebanon to avoid the situation developing into a conflict that includes the region, noting that it is necessary to reach a truce in Lebanon and a ceasefire in Gaza.
