Manama, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of Bahrain winning the gold medal in the women’s 3000m steeplechase race at the Paris 2024 Olympics, achieved by Bahraini athlete Winfred Yavi.
Al Musallam highlighted that this significant international achievement is a result of the unwavering royal support and the government’s efforts to create an environment conducive to sporting success, thereby enhancing Bahrain’s stature in international sports.
The Speaker also extended his congratulations to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM King’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and Pr
esident of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
He praised their efforts in securing these international sports accomplishments, which contribute to Bahrain’s record in global forums, affirming the continued support for the Kingdom’s sports sector, driving further successes amid comprehensive development.
