Speaker of Lower Chamber of Turkmenistan Parliament participates in Emirati Women’s Day activities

In celebration of Emirati Women’s Day, the UAE Embassy in Ashgabat organized an event that included H.E. Gulshat Mamedova, Speaker of the Lower Chamber of the Parliament of Turkmenistan, and H.E. Akjemal Durdyeva, Chairperson of the Central Council of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan, as well as heads of other diplomatic missions in Turkmenistan and prominent figures.

In a speech inaugurating the ceremony, His Excellency Ahmed Al Hay Al Hameli, UAE Ambassador to Turkmenistan, highlighted the UAE’s journey in empowering women and their achievements. His Excellency noted how Emirati women are assuming leading positions and responsibilities in numerous entitites and praised the continuous support for Emirati women since the establishment of the UAE under Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Moreover, His Excellency praised the role played by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), in supporting and empowering women.

For her part, Her Excellency Mamedova drew attention to the distinguished relations between the UAE and Turkmenistan in all fields, especially in women's affairs. Her Excellency praised the efforts of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in empowering Emirati women, noting that there are many opportunities to exchange experience between Turkmen and Emirati women in various fields.

During the ceremony, a documentary was screened showing the achievements of Emirati women in many sectors, including the armed forces, police, civil aviation, education, sports, culture, and space.
