'Syria affirms the full responsibility of the Israeli occupation authorities for the heinous crime that took place in the Syrian town of Majdal Shams on July 27th , 2024, a crime that the occupation authorities sought to employ to continue the escalation and its aggressive actions against countries of the region to engage them into a comprehensive war that poses threat to the international peace and security, the letters said. Syria stressed that the occupied Syrian Arab Golan was and will remain a Syrian territory, a thing which was confirmed by all relevant United Nations resolutions, most notably Resolution No. 497 of 1981. 'Syria also reaffirms that our citizens in Golan are Syri an Arab citizens who were and still are part of the Syrian Arab people, and they adhere to their belonging to their homeland- Syria- and their national identity, they also reject the Israeli occupation and look forward to ending it and putting an end to its criminal practices against them,' the letters added.
