Damascus: Syrian President Ahmad Al Shara met with an Iraqi delegation led by the head of the National Intelligence Service, Hamid Al Shatri, currently visiting Damascus. The two sides discussed bilateral relations and a range of regional issues.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting, the parties explored ways to expand mutual investments and boost trade deals between the two countries, particularly in the oil and grain sectors. They also agreed to establish joint committees to oversee the implementation of these agreements.
The discussions reaffirmed Iraq’s support for Syria’s stability and territorial integrity, while underscoring the importance of joint cooperation in promoting regional security and stability.
